Thy Kingdom Come

Light up the world with prayer #TKC19

From Ascension to Pentecost, Wallingford Baptist Church is joining with the global church praying that our community, our country and our world will be changed by the light of Christ shining into dark and difficult places and situations.

You can show your support by displaying an LED candle in your front window from Ascension to Pentecost. A symbol of your prayer for friends, family, our community, country and world - collect a candle and poster for your window from church.

Prayer Room: Can you commit to 30 minutes of prayer? Come and pray at any time of the day or night. Come as a family. Come with friends. Come as a Life Group. Come alone.

Prayer Stations will be set up in the prayer room and in the main church specifically to focus on praying that God's light will shine in our community and in the lives of those we love.

For families: Collect an Adventure Prayer Map and discover different ways to pray together.

4th June Toddlers: Bring a packed lunch and stay with your toddler for a Prayer Picnic.

Friday 7th June, 7pm-8.30pm: A Prayer Space at WBC to pray with other churches for the young people of our town and surrounding villages.

Sunday 9th June: Pentecost Picnic: On Pentecost Sunday we are having a church picnic at Crowmarsh recreation ground from about 1pm. Bring your own lunch, picnic blanket and games, and come and celebrate being part of God’s worldwide church family. Other local churches are being encouraged to join us.

Life groups will also be focusing on praying for God’s light to shine into personal, community, national and global situations. Some will be prayer walking their communities.

We encourage individuals and families to be inspired by ideas from There are lots of suggestions of ways to pray and be part of this worldwide community praying for God’s kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven.

Don't forget that in our 10.30am services this term we are focusing on a theme of "prayer that overcomes".

Sunday 2 June, 6pm there's a joint prayer service for CAP (Christians Against Poverty) at St Mary's Cholsey at 6pm on 2 June. CAP is truly at the forefront of seeing the difference the light of Christ can make to hopelessly dark situations!
